About Us
We believe every parent is SMART with Talents that can be a support to another smart parent. Their Gifts & Talents will be strengthened through S.M.A.R.T’s strategic system. S.M.A.R.T then truly becomes the circle of life that creates the ultimate support system within a single parent community. We are a “Hand-Up Community.” In essence, S.M.A.R.T provides parents with resources to help identify their gifts and talents and turn them into their Life Purpose that will support their children’s purpose of life. We are a smart circle who not only understands what you are going through, but we have experienced it and are equipped with the tools to support you.

Who We Serve
S.M.A.R.T. serves any single parent around the nation who is seeking a hand up in single parenting. We will not discriminate based upon disability, religion, race, color, national origin, gender, age, or sexual orientation.
S.M.A.R.T was derived from the struggles of a single mother, but is created for Single Mothers, Single Men, and Single Married Parents (married but live the life of a single parent due to spouse occupation, travel, etc.).
S.M.A.R.T also welcomes those who are former single parents, and now successfully married, to support the organization through their prior experience of single parenting. MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.

Offering an abundance of LOVE to single parents & their children, and teaching them the REAL meaning of LOVE. Many single parents wear a heart on their shoulders by offering so much love to everyone else but
themselves. We help single parents to slow down and completely love themselves.

Organizational Background
S.M.A.R.T., Inc. (SINGLE MOTHERS OF AMERICA RESOURCE TEAM), (SMART) is a metro Atlanta, GA nonprofit 501(c)(3) family education and support organization. SMART was founded in 2003 and later obtain tax-exemption in July 2016. SMART’s mission is to strengthen and inspire SMART parents, leading to SMART children, which leads to SMART communities. We fulfill our mission each day by providing evidence-based parenting education, life skills training programs and academic tutoring services to single parent-led families with children birth to eighteen years. SMART was founded by Toyin Fadina, an educator (by profession) and single parent that has dedicated her life to helping other single parents and their children thrive. Ms. Fadina was compelled to establish SMART so that she could pass along hope and proven strategies that were foundational life lessons learned from raising her daughter as a teenage mother to adulthood successfully. SMART offers several programs to assist single moms, all based on Ms. Fadina’s first-hand experiences as a teen mom, anecdotal reports from other single moms, and evidence-based research from peer reviewed studies. Ms. Fadina could not accomplish this critical work without the dedication and support of an amazing leadership and team. SMART is governed by a three-person Board of Directors that bring knowledge, skills, and commitment to furthering our mission. SMART is also supported by a team of five volunteers who champion the SMART mission by bringing a ray of sunshine and talent to their work with children and families.

parent can rise to their full potential of
single parenting by taking the SMART
steps she has created.
